The Tripura unit of the BJP on Saturday claimed that the Trinamool Congress’s bid to gain political mileage through its recent six-member delegation visit to the state has failed completely.

BJP spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty told reporters that the delegation led by former MP Kunal Ghosh and MP Sayoni Ghosh came to Tripura to create a political narrative but achieved nothing. He alleged that Trinamool’s focus on Tripura was an attempt to divert public attention from growing anti-incumbency and corruption scandals in West Bengal.

“The people of Bengal are ready to uproot the Trinamool government because of its job scams, lawlessness, and appeasement politics. To distract from this crisis, they tried to make noise in Tripura,” Chakraborty said.

He added that BJP workers and the administration ensured a peaceful visit, leaving no scope for Trinamool to claim victimhood. Dismissing allegations of attacks on Trinamool’s party office, Chakraborty said video evidence showed no damage or assault, calling the entire visit a “futile political screenplay.”
