Accused in Bishramganj Assault Case Arrested from Agartala Hotel

In a recent incident at Dewan Bazar area under Bishramganj, a vehicle was allegedly stopped and several people were assaulted by a BJP leader while they on way to the Tripureswari Temple. Following the incident, one of the accused, identified as Bappa Debnath, a resident of Bishramganj Bazar area, was arrested yesterday from a hotel in Agartala by police personnel from West Agartala Police Station.

According to sources, Bappa Debnath had reportedly fled to Agartala and was hiding in the hotel to evade arrest. After his detention, he was handed over to the Bishramganj Police Station by West Agartala police for further investigation.

A police officer from Bishramganj Police Station confirmed the arrest and stated that further inquiries into the case are currently underway.
