Fire Breaks Out at City's Ujan Abhoynagar Bridge Following TNGCL Gas Pipeline Leakage, Prompt Action by Fire Brigade Averts Major Disaster

A fire broke out near the City's Ujan Abhoynagar Bridge tonight at around 9:30 PM, reportedly due to a gas leakage from an underground TNGCL (Tripura Natural Gas Company Limited) pipeline.

According to local sources, the incident occurred when a nearby firecracker explosion ignited the leaking gas, resulting in sudden flames near the bridge area. Fortunately, the Kunjaban Fire Station team responded swiftly, reaching the site promptly and preventing the fire from spreading further.

Soon after, the TNGCL technical team also arrived at the scene and worked with the fire personnel to control the situation and seal the leakage point.

No casualties or major property damage were reported till the time of filing this report. However, the incident caused temporary panic among nearby residents and commuters passing through the bridge.

Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious and report any suspected gas leakage immediately to avoid similar incidents in the future.
