Chief Minister Manik Saha on Saturday said that this year’s Durga Puja celebrations across Tripura concluded peacefully and beautifully, reflecting harmony and discipline. Inaugurating the fourth edition of the ‘Mayer Gaman 2025’ carnival organised by the Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) Department in front of Maharani Tulsibati Girls’ School, Dr Saha said the event has evolved into one of the state’s most prominent annual cultural festivities.

Extending greetings on Bijoya Dashami and Dussehra, he said the carnival, first held near the City Centre, was later shifted to its current venue to revive the old tradition of idol immersion processions from the princely era. He noted that the initiative aims to promote disciplined celebrations while highlighting Tripura’s artistic and cultural richness.

The Chief Minister appreciated the joint performances by children from Jati and Janajati communities, saying such events foster unity and social progress. He also highlighted the growing participation of tribal communities in this year’s celebrations.

Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, several state ministers, senior officials, and dignitaries attended the event. ICA Director Bimbisar Bhattacharjee informed that 40 community Puja organisers participated in the grand procession.
