Minor Girl Allegedly Drugged and Assaulted by Fish Trader in Agartala’s Rajnagar, Accused Still Absconding

A shocking incident has shaken the capital city of Agartala, where a minor girl was allegedly lured to an abandoned house in the Rajnagar area and subjected to an attempted rape and brutal assault by a man identified as Shankar Das, a local fish trader.

According to local sources, the victim was found in a critical condition after being physically assaulted. There are also serious allegations that the accused forced drugs or poison into the girl’s mouth, causing her health to deteriorate rapidly. She was later rescued and taken to the hospital yesterday morning for urgent medical treatment.

The accused Shankar Das, reportedly a resident of the Jay Nagar area under West Agartala, has been on the run since the incident. Police have launched a manhunt to trace and arrest him.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage across social media, where citizens are demanding strict and exemplary punishment for the accused to ensure justice for the victim and to prevent such crimes in the future.

Authorities have assured that an immediate and impartial investigation is underway, and efforts are being made to apprehend the accused at the earliest.
