Additional Director General of Tripura Police Shri M. Raja Murugan, IPS, Appointed as Managing Director of TRIFED

The Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED), under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, has appointed Shri Rajamurugan Muthukalathi, IPS, currently serving as Additional Director General of Police in Tripura, as its new Managing Director.
In a formal statement, TRIFED extended a warm welcome to Shri Muthukalathi and expressed confidence that his leadership will provide fresh impetus to the organization’s mission of promoting sustainable livelihoods and socio-economic empowerment of tribal communities across India.
With an illustrious career in the Indian Police Service, Shri Muthukalathi brings proven administrative expertise and strong leadership credentials to his new role. TRIFED noted that his appointment comes at a crucial juncture when the federation is intensifying its focus on strengthening tribal enterprises, expanding livelihood opportunities, and scaling up sustainable development initiatives.
As Managing Director, Shri Muthukalathi will oversee TRIFED’s strategic priorities, including improving market linkages for tribal products, expanding the Minimum Support Price (MSP) framework for non-timber forest produce, and promoting value-addition programmes that increase earnings for tribal collectors, farmers, and artisans. These efforts will be implemented in collaboration with state governments, development partners, and grassroots organizations.
TRIFED further emphasized that its headquarters at NSIC Business Park, Okhla Phase III, New Delhi, will continue to serve as the hub for coordinating nationwide programmes, policy advocacy, and market outreach. Transparency, sustainability, and inclusive growth remain the guiding principles of its operations.
