Around 3,000 Community Durga Pujas to Be Celebrated in Tripura This Year, 10% Higher Than Last Year

Tripura is gearing up for Durga Puja celebrations on a larger scale this year with nearly 3,000 community (sarbojonin) pujas scheduled across the state, marking an increase of around 10 percent compared to last year.
Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Dhankar, addressing a press conference yesterday, said that elaborate security arrangements have been made to ensure peaceful festivities. More than 7,800 police personnel will be deployed across the state to maintain law and order during the four-day festival.
According to the district-wise distribution, West Tripura tops the list with 772 community pujas, followed by Khowai with 397, Sepahijala with 377, Gomati with 352, Dhalai with 317, South Tripura with 268, North Tripura with 262, and Unakoti with 220 pujas.
The DGP also urged puja organizers and the public to cooperate with the administration in ensuring a smooth and peaceful celebration across the state.
