BSF Detains Indian Tout and Two Bangladeshi Girls in Sonamura

In a recent development, the Border Security Force (BSF) detained an Indian tout and two Bangladeshi girls in the Srimantapur Sahapur area under Sonamura police station. This incident comes at a time when India-Bangladesh relations are strained, with heightened tensions near the border. To address the situation, additional BSF personnel have been deployed along the Indo-Bangladesh border.Sources from Sunamura said the detained individuals include Rajikul Islam, son of Kasem Mia from Durgapur village in Sonamura, along with Shanta Islam (15), daughter of Abdullah Sarkar from Kamranga Char, Dhaka, and Sanjita Akter (19), daughter of Halim Hasan from Gobindpur, Madhupur police station area, Dhaka.The trio was apprehended by BSF personnel while attempting to cross the Srimantapur border into Bangladesh. They were handed over to Sonamura police station, where further investigation revealed that Rajikul Islam allegedly facilitated their entry into the state from Bangladesh for illegal activities.According to the sources Sonamura police have registered a case against the accused. The trio will be presented in court tomorrow. Meanwhile, another operation conducted by Sonamura police in the Kamalnagar Ghatigor area last night, based on secret information, led to the arrest of two Indian nationals and one Bangladeshi. They were presented in court today.Despite the enhanced security presence along the Indo-Bangladesh border, incidents of illegal crossings continue to raise concerns. Locals are questioning how Bangladeshi nationals manage to enter the state despite tight security measures.The incident underscores the vulnerability of border areas and raises fears about potential infiltration by militants from Bangladesh.
