Former Barjala MLA Dr. Dilip Das has made a significant remark on his social media platform highlighting the need to strengthen the organizational foundation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tripura.

Dr. Das noted that the BJP has grown into the world’s largest political party with a vast membership base, including people from different backgrounds and ideologies. However, he cautioned that many of the new entrants lack a clear understanding of the party’s core principles.

“The party has expanded, membership has increased, and in Tripura too, thousands have joined. But many of them are not aware of BJP’s ideals and philosophy. To build the party on a strong structure, discussions on Panch Nishtha and Integral Humanism must begin from the grassroots. Workers must be trained,

only then the party will be prepared for the future and emerge stronger,” Dr. Das wrote.

He further added that many individuals from different parties have joined BJP for power and personal gain. According to him, it is necessary to guide and reform such members in line with BJP’s values to strengthen the organization for the future.

Mixed Reactions from Followers

Dr. Das’s message sparked an active debate among his followers on social media.

Some echoed his concerns but pointed out that the issues at the top leadership level must be addressed first.

“Fix the top first. Most of the disorder is coming from there,” one follower commented.

Others agreed with his assessment but added pressing concerns about unemployment and organizational weakening.

“You spoke the truth, but I want to add that after the government came, the party has shown no concern for employment of its workers. The recruitment policy through exams is not acceptable to the unemployed youths. Earlier, during bike rallies, 500–600 youth from Yuva Morcha used to participate, now hardly 50 come. The leadership should realize this. Even the Special Executive recruitment has been pending for four years without progress. The Chief Minister must take urgent steps on this,” another follower said.

A few also suggested that newcomers from other parties should first undergo training at the grassroots and booth levels instead of directly seeking higher positions.

Dr. Das’s statement and the reactions it has drawn indicate an undercurrent of dissatisfaction among sections of BJP’s rank and file in Tripura, particularly on organizational discipline, youth involvement, and employment-related grievances.
