Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha yesterday reiterated the state government’s commitment to fill all vacant posts in various departments at the earliest. Speaking at an official ceremony at Rabindra Bhavan, Dr. Saha distributed appointment letters to 214 General Duty Medical Officers (GDMOs), emphasizing that strengthening healthcare services remains a top priority of his administration.

Among the newly appointed doctors, 142 are men and 72 are women, the Chief Minister said. Alongside the healthcare appointments, 12 candidates were also given appointment letters for the post of Librarian under the Education Department.

Highlighting the government’s transparency in recruitment, Dr. Saha informed that 20,036 people have so far been provided government jobs, including under the die-in-harness scheme.

The Chief Minister assured that the government is also taking steps to expedite recruitments in other crucial sectors, including the Fire Service, Jail Department, and Executive posts.

Meanwhile, demands have been raised by job aspirants across various departments. Candidates have urged the government to release the merit list for STPET (Physical Education Teachers) and the long-pending Tripura Fire Service recruitment, which has been delayed for nearly four years. Aspirants also pressed for speedy recruitment of staff nurses and expressed frustration over the delay in the Special Executive recruitment process, which has been pending for months since scrutiny.

On the education front, candidates who cleared TET 1 and TET 2 in 2024 appealed for their appointments to be made together to address the shortage of teachers in schools and ensure rapid development in the state’s education system.

While appreciating the Chief Minister’s efforts, many youths also voiced concerns over unemployment, urging faster recruitment processes to secure the future of Tripura’s young generation.
