State government to give16 thousand more jobs, already 14 thousand given over past seven years, Pranjit

Tripura government will give 16 thousand more jobs soon and the matter is now in pipeline. This was stated by the minister for finance in an interaction with the media on the sidelines of the assembly session. Speaking on the issue the finance minister Pranjit Singharoy said that there is no dearth of funds and the finance department has already given clearance for the jobs and the process of recruitment will begin soon.

Pranjit said that over the past seven years more than 14 thousand jobs had been given and after recruitment of sixteen thousand more the figure of total government jobs given will stand at more than thirty thousand. Most of the recruitments will be made in the departments of police and education which are facing a crippling shortage of personnel; most of the schools of the state are short of teachers. Apart from this, doctors and nurses will also be recruited in the health department which is also under-staffed. “There are certain legal issues over jobs of teachers and matters are in court; once these issues are settled and judicial clearance obtained jobs will be given on the basis of merit” said Pranjit.

He said that over the past seven years twenty thousand employees have gone on retirement and the slots left vacant by them will be filled up in a phased manner. “Some of the recruitments will be made through the TPSC and this is taking time as proper process has to be completed as per law and regulations” said the finance minister. He however asserted that there is no dearth of fund for recruitment and the process will be set rolling soon as the chief minister himself is also keen to give regular jobs on appropriate financial benefits.
