Prof. Biswanath Dinda and Dr. Biswajit Saha enlisted in Stanford’s Global Top 2% Acclaimed Scientists 2025

A list of the 2% top scientists in the world is released every year jointly by the celebrated Stanford University of the United States of America and Elsevier, one of the leading scientific research-based journal publishers. The list has been released through subject-based bibliometric analysis based on the composite citation index using research publications upto the end of the year 2024. This is regarded as a matter of honour and prestige for the entire scientific fraternity.
Prof. (Dr.) Biswanath Dinda has been ranked in the top 2% of the world's scientists by Stanford/Elsevier, ranking for faculties 2019,2022 & 2025. Prof Biswanath Dinda was born on 4th August 1947 in West Bengal, completed his school education in Midnapore (now East Medinipore).Completed B.Sc. Hons and M.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Calcutta in 1967 and 1969, respectively.
Prof. Dinda completed Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Univ. of Calcutta in 1974 working as CSIR research fellow and carried out post-doctoral work in the College of Pharmacy, Ohio State University, USA, during the period 1976-1978. Worked as Lecturer in Chemistry, Bejoy Narayan Mahavidyalaya, Hooghly, from December 1973-May 1981. Joined Calcutta University Post-Graduate Centre in May 1981 as Sr. Lecturer in Chemistry and appointed Professor in Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry in Tripura University in 1993. Retired from Tripura University (TU) on August 2012 as Senior-most Professor of TU.Worked in NIT, Agartala, for one year (2012-2013).Visited the University of Athens, Greece, in 2016. Published more than 120 research papers in the scientific journals of international repute in the field of natural products chemistry and drug discovery. His three books on Pericyclic & Photochemistry, Iridoids, and Diabetes have been published by the publisher Springer International, Switzerland.According to Semantic Scholar, Prof. Dinda has an h-index of 24 with 2950 citations to date. 18 Students completed their Ph.D. works under his guidance.
Another Tripura's physicist Dr. Biswajit Saha, has been placed in this glorious list of 2% top scientists of the world in the field of Physics and Astronomy. His research works are mainly based on Charge transport in Polymer based semiconductors, thermoelectric energy conversion, Quantum effects in low dimensional semiconductors, Application of low dimensional materials for green energy and sustainable environment, and environmental remediation. More than Ninety of his research articles have been published from his research laboratory at NIT Agartala in various international SCI journals including American Chemical Society (ACS), and Royal society of chemistry journals. Biswajit Saha attributed this success to all members and research students of his group and said that without their contribution this success would not have been possible.Already Ten number of Ph.D scholars have completed their doctoral research from his laboratory and many scholars are working under his supervision.
Dr. Biswajit Saha is home-grown scientist in the true sense of the term. Born in Agartala and had studied in Netaji Subhas Colony Senior Basic School, Jogendra Nagar Higher Secondary school and Umakanta Academy doing exceedingly well. He had studied honours in Physics from MBB College and then did his M.Sc. from the Tripura University (TU), with blazing brilliance. He obtained his Ph.D in Physics from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Dr Saha is currently an AssociateProfessor of Physics in NIT, Agartala and persistently engaged in research and study.
