Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tuesday announced a festive bonanza for state government employees and pensioners, declaring an additional 3 percent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) ahead of Durga Puja.

The DA hike will come into effect from October 01, 2025.

Speaking during the 8th session of the 13th Tripura Legislative Assembly, the Chief Minister said his government has always prioritised the welfare of employees and pensioners. He emphasised that under the present administration, pay and pension structures have been reviewed and implemented in line with the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).

“Employees and pensioners are our priority. We revise and address their demands before they are raised. No one needs to hold processions because we remain committed to their interests,” Saha said while thanking the Deputy Speaker Ram Prasad Paul for conducting the proceedings effectively.

The Chief Minister informed the House that under his government’s tenure, six instalments of DA/DR hikes have been implemented, totalling a 33 percent increase. The fresh announcement of a 3 percent hike will benefit around 1.05 lakh employees and 84,000 pensioners, entailing an additional expenditure of Rs 125 crore from the state exchequer.

Saha added that this decision was taken to ensure government staff and retirees could celebrate the upcoming festive season with greater joy and financial security.
