Udaipur descended into chaos soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s departure from the Palatana helipad on Sunday. The incident took place at Rajarbagh when locals rushed to dismantle and seize the bamboo barricades erected for the Prime Minister’s security.

Eyewitnesses said that as soon as the Prime Minister’s helicopter left, groups of people began scrambling to take possession of the bamboos used in the roadside barricades. Within minutes, the frenzy escalated into heated altercations and violent clashes, unfolding right in front of police officials.

Several individuals were injured during the scuffle. One critically injured person was referred to GBP Hospital in Agartala, while others were admitted to Udaipur Hospital for treatment.

Shockingly, the chaos did not stop at bamboo barricades. Flowers that had been used for decoration worth nearly Rs. 50 lakhs

were also looted by sections of people in front of the temple premises. This brazen act occurred in the presence of the temple administration, leaving many stunned.

Locals described the atmosphere as an unprecedented “loot” scene, alleging that both police and influential leaders remained silent spectators as people fought over the materials.

The incident has triggered sharp criticism across the state, with many questioning the law enforcement agencies and temple administration for their inability to prevent such disorder immediately after a high-profile VVIP visit.
