Mayor Inspects Roadworks in Agartala Ahead of Festive Season, Thanks Smart City CEO for Timely Repairs

Mayor Deepak Majumder on Sunday inspected several under construction roads across the capital city, including the long-neglected stretch near the old Motor Stand area. The road, which had remained closed for several weeks in the name of repairs, was partially reopened for public use ahead of the Durga Puja festivities.

Mayor Majumder was accompanied by Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav, CEO of Agartala Smart City Limited, who has been supervising the ongoing repair works under the Smart City project.

Speaking to media representatives at the site, the Mayor said that the administration has tried to complete as many road repairs as possible before the Puja days to ensure smooth movement for citizens. He recalled that Dr. Yadav had earlier promised to complete essential road repairs before Mahalaya and noted that the commitment had been fulfilled.

“I thank the Smart City CEO, Dr. Shailesh Yadav, for keeping his word and ensuring timely completion of the work,” Mayor Majumder told reporters. He further added that while heavy rainfall posed challenges in executing the works, the progress achieved so far would ensure that citizens face no major inconvenience during the Puja days.

The Mayor also assured that once the Puja festivities are over, the remaining stretches of the city roads will be fully repaired and restored.
