BJP believes in the principle of service to people to win their hearts as well as to help out people in distress . This is the guideline enunciated for party leaders and workers by the prime minister Narendra Modi and the party unit here always try to act upon this principle. “We believe in the policy of Sav Ka Saath, Sav Ka Vikash and this is reflected in our works” said the tribal welfare minister Bikash Debbarma. He was presiding over a programme of distribution of garments before ‘Durga Puja’ held in the Tuithampui high school at Manik Bazar under Krishnapur assembly constituency today. In the programme Bikash was accompanied by member of district council (MDC) Bidyut Debbarma, general secretary of Krishnapur ‘Mandal’ Watharai Malsum and other local BJP leaders.

In the programme more than 200 traditional attires of tribal women like ‘Pachhra’ were distributed among as many tribal women from the MDC fund under Bidyut Debbarma while minister Bikash Debbarma and Bidyut Debbarma distributed ‘Rignai’, ‘Pachhra’, ‘Risha’ etc among the women with their own hands. The recipients of the dresses also expressed their joy and gratitude to the minister and accompanying BJP leaders.

Addressing the programme Bikash Debbarma said the erstwhile left front government had never stood by the people in times of need or before and after festivals but in this regard BJP is a striking exception. “But we never lag behind in such welfare activities ; I would like to assure people that as long as BJP is there in power in the state you have nothing to worry ; we are always with you” said Bikash.
