Drug peddler caught in Sonamura with a stock of Heroin

After Bishalgarh the neighbouring Sonamura subdivision is fast emerging as a major crime spot in the state. Yesterday a smuggler youth was murdered in cold blood over a dispute on possession of gold biscuits and within eighteen hours another youth identified as Kabir Hossain Sarkar (38), resident of Rangamati village under Sonamura police station was arrested by police with a small consignment of toxic Heroin .

Sources from Sonamura said that acting on a tip-off a police team lying in wait near the motor stand caught Kabir Hossain who had been passing by on a motor bike numbered TR-08E-5019. After a body search toxic Heroin weighing 40.55 grams and cash of Rs 11, 260.00 were recovered from his possession. Sources said that nabbed youth’s passport and mobile phone had also been seized. In the course of primary interrogation the youth Kabir Hossain confessed that he used to sell the Heroin among youths in Sonamura.

Sources said that a case under the NDPS act has been registered against nabbed Kabir Hossain in the Sonamura police station and he is being produced in court today. Police sources said that several other drug peddlers operating in Sonamura may be arrested on the basis of confession likely to be made by the nabbed Kabir Hossain.
