A fresh controversy has erupted in Tripura after an explosive allegation surfaced against Tripura Minority Corporation Chairman, Jasim Uddin. Audio recordings of alleged phone conversations demanding commission in exchange for loans have gone viral on social media, sparking outrage and demands for a high-level inquiry.
According to a serious complaint made by Tikan Ali, a resident of Golaghati, under Seapahijala district was forced to pay a bribe of Rs. 70,000 in order to secure a loan of Rs. 5 lakh from the Tripura Minority Corporation. Shockingly, Ali alleged that the money was received in cash directly by Chairman Jasim Uddin himself inside the Minority Corporation office.
Speaking openly before media cameras, without hiding any details, Ali further revealed that Jasim Uddin has been involved in similar practices with others as well. He named Khurshid Miah, Ali Miah, and Mukesh Miah as individuals who were also allegedly forced to pay bribes to secure loans through the corporation.
The controversy escalated after alleged phone call recordings, where demands for money were made, circulated widely on social media platforms. The viral recordings have fueled anger and suspicions of systemic corruption in the corporation meant to support minority communities.
Calling upon Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha to intervene, complainant Tikan Ali has demanded an immediate and impartial investigation into the incident. The scandal has now put the state government under pressure to act swiftly to restore credibility in the loan distribution process and address the allegations against the chairman of the Minority Corporation.
