In one instance of the wild animals still on rampage came to light yesterday a poor tribal shifting cultivator was torn to death by a wild bear in Deganga area under Panisagar subdivision yesterday.
Sources said that Rajiv Kumar Reang (35), a shifting cultivator by profession, had set out to reach his ‘Jhoom’ (shifting cultivation field) at Deganga forest area from his home in the market. But on his way he was attacked by wild bear that had come out of the nearby forest and tore him apart with its paws and nails around 3-30 PM. After a short while his bruised body was seen by a group of fellow shifting cultivators who tried to send him to Dharma Nagar hospital . But Rajiv Kumar Reang breathed his last on the way . His death has cast a shadow of grief and mourning in the entire Deganga area.
