Tripura Industries Experts Suggest Holistic Approach with Govt., Stakeholders and Academia to Boost Small Industries

On the occasion of Small Industry Day 2025, the Institution of Engineers (India), Tripura State Centre, organized a seminar on the theme 'How to develop the existing Small Industrial scenario in Tripura' at its Seminar Hall in Pandit Nehru Complex, Agartala yesterday.
Delivering the keynote speech, Shri Shyamal Kanti Deb, Former General Manager, Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Ltd., stressed that developing the small industrial sector in Tripura requires a holistic approach involving strong collaboration among the government, industry stakeholders, and academic institutions. He highlighted that sustainable growth in the sector can only be achieved through combined efforts that focus on infrastructure development, progressive policies, skill enhancement, financial support, and wider market access, thereby creating a conducive environment for small industries to flourish and contribute to Tripura’s overall economic growth.
The seminar was presided over by Er. Paramananda Sarkar Banerjee, FIE, Chairman of IEI, Tripura State Centre, while Prof. (Dr.) Priyanath Das, FIE, Honorary Secretary of the Centre, delivered the welcome address. The programme also included the presentation of mementos, an interactive discussion, and a presidential address by the Chairman.
As part of the event, seven young entrepreneurs were felicitated for their contributions to Tripura’s industrial landscape. The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from young entrepreneurs, senior engineers, and engineering students, making it a platform for knowledge sharing and brainstorming on the future of small industries in the state.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks and refreshments, marking a meaningful observance of Small Industry Day 2025 in Tripura.
