Surjyamani Nagar under West Tripura District witnessed a grand celebration on August 29 as nearly 700 meritorious students, who passed their Secondary and Higher Secondary examinations with division, were felicitated in a public ceremony. Like the previous year, the program was organized under the initiative of local MLA and Deputy Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly, Shri Ram Prasad Pal.

The event, held at the auditorium of Tripura Central University, was inaugurated by the Governor of Chhattisgarh, Shri Ramen Deka, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his speech, Governor Deka expressed admiration, noting that such a large-scale felicitation program organized by a legislator for the entire constituency’s meritorious students is a rare initiative across India.

In the presence of MLA Ram Prasad Pal, the students were awarded with Laptops, Smart Phones, Tablets, and Smart Watches, symbolizing recognition of their academic excellence and encouragement for future achievements. Pal assured that he would continue this initiative every year to honor young talents. He also urged students to stay away from drugs and dedicate themselves to building a better future.

Although Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha could not invited the program, Governor Ramen Deka later paid a courtesy visit to his residence in Agartala.

The felicitation program, attended by students, parents, and dignitaries, turned into a celebration of academic success and community pride, leaving a lasting impression on all.
