A Jansuraksha Camp was successfully held today at Harijoy Chowdhury Gram Panchayat under TGB Mohanpur (Jirania) Branch in West Tripura district, drawing enthusiastic participation from local villagers.
The event was graced by eminent dignitaries including Shri Diganta Kr. Das, Deputy General Manager of NABARD; Shri Satyendra Singh, Chairman of Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB); and Shri Samar Kanti Das, Pradhan of the GP, along with senior officials from various government departments.
Speaking at the camp, officials underscored the significance of financial inclusion and explained the benefits of flagship social security schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Atal Pension Yojana (APY), and Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY). They also highlighted the necessity of Re-KYC for bank accounts to ensure uninterrupted access to financial services.
A key highlight of the program was the handing over of a cheque worth Rs. 2,00,000 to Shri Krishna Dhan Sharma, nominee of a PMJJBY beneficiary, by the dignitaries. This gesture underlined the real-time impact of these schemes on rural families.
In addition, a Business Correspondent (BC) of TGB Mohanpur branch provided on-the-spot KYC updation services to villagers, ensuring easy access to financial facilities.
The initiative forms part of the nationwide Jansuraksha campaign, launched by the Department of Financial Services (DFS), scheduled to run from July 1 to September 30, 2025, with the objective of extending social security coverage to every corner of the country.
