28 children adopted between 2022 to 2025, says Tripura CM

Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today underscored the collective responsibility of society in safeguarding child rights while attending the One-Day North Eastern Regional Convention on Child Rights held at Prajna Bhavan in Agartala.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha said children are the future of the nation and the foundation of society, and hence ensuring their safety, security, and overall development should not be left solely to governments or institutions. He stressed that families, communities, and every section of society must work together to protect children and ensure their rights are upheld.
The Chief Minister also highlighted several initiatives undertaken in Tripura for child welfare and informed that between 2022 and 2025, around 28 children in the state were given loving homes through legal adoption. He noted that such steps are important in providing children with a secure future and in building a stronger society.
The convention was also attended by Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy, Chairperson of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) Tripti Gurha, Secretary of Social Welfare and Social Education Department Tapas Roy, and Director of the department Tapan Kumar Das.
Officials present at the event reiterated the government’s commitment to continue strengthening policies and programmes that safeguard child rights and ensure their holistic development.
