Four firearms seized from city outskirts

A major recovery of firearms created a stir in Amtali on Tuesday after police seized four guns from the house of a youth identified as Dipankar Sen of Madhyapara locality.

According to police sources, a special team led by the Superintendent of Police, along with other senior officials, conducted a raid at Sen’s residence based on specific intelligence inputs. During the search, four firearms were recovered, sparking tension in the area.

Officials said the search operation at the house was still underway till late night, as police suspected the presence of more illegal weapons or related materials. The seized guns have been taken into custody for forensic examination.
