The ‘Gram Jana Pratinidhi Sammelan’ was successfully organised in Sonamura, with an impressive turnout of grassroots representatives, Congress leaders and party workers. The event focused on strengthening the Panchayati Raj system and deepening the party’s commitment to grassroots democracy.

Tripura Congress Legislative Party leader Birajit Sinha, addressing the gathering, described the conference as an inspiring and fruitful day of discussions.

He extended his gratitude to the leadership of the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan (RGPRS), especially national president Dr Sunil Panwar, whose presence, along with that of other senior leaders, gave further momentum to the initiative.

Senior leaders, including Kunal Banerjee, joined in the deliberations, while Panchayat members and Congress workers from across the state actively participated. Sinha lauded their enthusiasm and called it the party’s greatest strength.

“The Sammelan has energised us to work with renewed determination for the welfare of the people of Tripura. Our commitment to strengthening grassroots democracy has become even stronger,” Sinha said.

The day-long programme featured exchanges on the role of Panchayati Raj in empowering local governance and highlighted the Congress party’s vision for inclusive development in Tripura.
