The Tripura TET Teachers Welfare Association have strongly protested the notification issued by the Teachers Recruitment Board of Tripura (TRBT) for recruitment of a large number of post-graduate of STPGT teachers on various subjects. Pointing out the anomaly in the advertisement the secretary of the association Ajay Paul said that in the advertisement for recruitment issued by the TRBT in 2022 it had been clearly mentioned that the posts were ‘permanent’ but the recent advertisement refers to the posts as ‘temporary’. Protesting this Ajay Paul said that teachers will be recruited against regular posts through competitive examination ,so how can these posts be temporary. He demanded immediate correction of the reference in the TRBT advertisement through replacement of the word ‘temporary’ by ‘permanent’ as in 2022.
Speaking on the gamut of issues pertaining to TET teachers Ajay Paul said that teachers recruited against regular posts through competitive exams should be given full payscale from the very first month in stead of the present system of fixed pay for five years . “This is gross exploitation of labour that the previous left front government had introduced ; this should be changed immediately” said Ajay. He also demanded an upward revision of the grade pay given to TET qualified teachers and payment of all 22% outstanding DA installments . Ajay also demanded discontinuance of the system of constituting pay review committees, introduced by the erstwhile left front government and asserted that the 8th pay commission should be constituted immediately in the interest of employees and teachers of the state.
