Monsoon session of Tripura assembly to commence from September 19

The monsoon session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly is scheduled to begin from September 19 even though the duration of the session has not yet been decided. This decision was taken in a meeting of the state cabinet and now with governor’s approval the notification of the session will be issued. Sources in the assembly said that a meeting of the business advisory committee (BAC) comprising representatives from all parties with majority from the ruling party will be held soon to decide upon the business to be transacted in the session.

Sources said that the session is mandatorily required to begin from September 19 as assembly session have to come off once at a maximum gap of six months. Even though the transaction of legislative business is yet to be finalized , the employees of the state are expecting the state government to announce a major installment of dearness allowance and dearness relief for them because very few days will remain between the end of the assembly session and the deadline for such announcement set by the 16th finance commission on 31st October.
