Wife pours acid on husband

In a shocking incident at Sidhai Mohanpur, a 38-year-old farmer was left battling for life after his wife allegedly attacked him with acid on Wednesday.

The victim, identified as Sribash Debbarma, sustained grievous burns on several parts of his body. According to local sources, the couple were preparing to travel to the wife’s paternal home on a two-wheeler when the attack occurred.

Eyewitnesses said that Sumitra Debbarma, the accused, was carrying a container of acid and suddenly poured it on her husband from behind. Hearing his desperate cries, neighbours rushed to the spot and shifted him to GB Pant Hospital.

Doctors have described his condition as critical. Police have taken up the case and an investigation is underway.
