The Tripura Rural Economic Growth and Service Delivery Project (TRESP) has launched its district-level teacher training initiative under the Teacher Professional Development (TPD) program in South Tripura, with the first phase held at Santirbazar Block Resource Centre. The training aims to strengthen the professional skills of secondary-level teachers in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, ensuring quality education and improved learning outcomes.

While education is at the heart of TRESP, the project focuses on four major areas of development:

Quality Education: Raising the standard of teaching and classroom practices for holistic learning.

Road Connectivity: Enhancing road infrastructure to improve accessibility across rural and remote areas.

Sustainable Livelihoods: Promoting income-generating opportunities and economic growth in local communities.

Service Delivery: Strengthening essential public services for better access and efficiency. Implemented across 23 tribal-dominated blocks of Tripura, TRESP is scheduled to be completed by 2029.

Officials noted that the project will not only uplift the education sector but also ensure long-term socio-economic development by addressing infrastructure, livelihood, and service delivery challenges. The Santirbazar launch of the teacher training program marks a significant step toward empowering teachers, improving classroom quality, and advancing the vision of NEP 2020 while aligning with TRESP’s larger mission of inclusive development in Tripura.
