Three day photography exhibition commences in Rabindra Shata Varshiki Bhawan on the occasion of world photography day

A three day photography exhibition was opened today amidst great enthusiasm in the Rabindra Shata Varshiki Bhawan at Agartala this morning on the occasion of the world photography day today. A large number of media photographers of Tripura have taken part in the exhibition that will continue for three days by having their special photographs put up for public viewing in the ongoing exhibition. The exhibition is being organised at the initiative of the Tripura Photo-journalist Association (TPJA).
The exhibition was inaugurated by the minister for transport and tourism Sushanta Chowdhury with thee AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder, Director ICA Bimbisar Bhattacharjee, president of Agartala Press Club Pranab Sarkar, IGP Krishnendu Chakraborty, the president of TPJA Pralayjit Paul, general secretary Abhishek Debbarma and many photo-journalists in attendance. The honoured guests unveiled the exhibition by cutting ribbon and lighting the holy lamp.
Addressing the gathering of photo-journalists the minister for transport and tourism Sushanta Chowdhury hailed the initiative to organise the exhibition and described this as an important occasion. “The photo-journalists capture the most important realities of life and society in their lenses and this plays and vital role in shaping our thoughts and ideas besides giving information; this is a noble profession which also reflects the artistic views and sensibilities of the photo-journalists” said Sushanta. He also asserted that the state government is keen to promote the art of photography and photo-journalism.
