Dilip Das has expressed grave concern over a series of recent deaths reported in Borjola, most of which, according to family members of the deceased, were caused by strokes.

Dr. Das, who personally visited several bereaved families in the locality, shared his observations on social media, highlighting that the victims largely belonged to economically weaker sections. He noted with concern that nearly 30 individuals between the ages of 30 and 50 have died recently due to non-communicable diseases (NCDs), with stroke being cited as the major cause.

In his social media post, Dr. Das stated that he has already spoken to the Chief Medical Officer (West) regarding the matter. Stressing the urgency, he remarked that a detailed study is essential to understand the underlying reasons behind the alarming trend.

The former legislator further appealed to the public and experts to shed light on the issue and share their views, emphasizing that community awareness and expert intervention are crucial to address the situation effectively.
