In a tragic incident a patient urgently requiring blood transfusion died today without bood in Mohanpur community health centre only because the oxygen machine was out of order and there was no other way to transfuse the blood in his body. Sources from Mohanpur said that Ajit Nath (64), a patient of anaemia from Kashipur village within a short distance of the Mohanpur subdivisional headquarter , had been brought to Mohanpur community health centre by his son Sujit Nath around 9-00 in the morning. . He needed urgent blood transfusion as diagnosed the doctor.
But there was no technician to transfuse blood and when the doctor on duty tried his hand he found the machine out of order and this forestalled any blood transfusion. As a result patient Ajit Nath breathed his last within half an hour. His son Sujit Nath told media persons about this and grieved that but for non-availability of the blood transfusion machine his father died a premature death. The sad incident has sparked resentment among local people.
