Ramprasad Pal to Assume Charge as Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly in Absence of Biswabandhu Sen

In view of the absence of Tripura Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswabandhu Sen, who is currently undergoing treatment in Bangalore, Deputy Speaker Ramprasad Pal has been entrusted with the charge of Speaker for the upcoming session of the state assembly.

An official notification issued today stated that Ramprasad Pal will oversee all functions of the Assembly, including its financial and administrative activities, until further orders.

According to official sources, the next session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly is likely to commence on September 19 and may continue for about a week.

Speaker Biswabandhu Sen has been in Bangalore for medical treatment following a severe brain stroke. His recovery is expected to take time, and he will remain under medical supervision for the foreseeable future.
