Fulfilling a major demand of patients and common people the health department today introduced the crucial Ultra Sound (Sonography) service in the RGM hospital of Kailasahar, headquarter of Unakoti district . Even though the USG service is common and available almost everywhere in government run or private hospitals and private clinics across the country a number of government run hospitals in Tripura continue to remain deprived of this service. This crucial service was installed today in the RGM hospital of Kailasahar today through a special programme.
The service was inaugurated by the minister for social welfare Tinku Roy and the function was attended by the chairperson of Kailasahar municipality Chapala Debroy, vice chairperson Nitish De, the district medical officer Shirshendu Chakma, SDM Bipul Das, SDMO of RGM hospital Papiya Rudrapaul and others.

He said that the state government has already spent more than Rs 1 thousand crore for improvement and upgradation of health service and more will be done to further tone up the service.
“We have a plan to dismantle the old infrastructure of the hospital and replace it by a brand new one; at present a specialist doctor will operate this USG machine but in a short while a separate and permanent doctor will be posted for operating the USG ; an amount of Rs 36 lakhs have been spent for installing this machine but more will be done” said minister Tinku Roy. At the end of the programme he visited the room where the USG machine has been installed.
