CM Manik Saha Thanks Railways for Approving Belonia Stop for Kanchanjungha Express After State’s Request

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha announced today through his Facebook page that long-distance trains, including the Kanchanjungha Express, will be halted at Belonia from now. Basically, the long distance trains cannot halt at every station to ensure passengers reach their destinations in less time. However, after a delegation met him to request that the matter be brought to the attention of the Central Government, he raised the issue during a meeting with the Union Railway Minister in Delhi, urging its consideration.

Dr. Saha stated that the Union Railway Minister assured him that the matter would be reviewed by departmental officials. Later, Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, officials of the Transport Department, and the state’s MPs also raised the same demand.

Honoring the long-standing demand of the people of Belonia. a vital center of South Tripura, the railway authorities recognized the importance of the issue and responded positively. Expressing gratitude on behalf of the state government, Dr. Saha extended heartfelt thanks to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for approving the request.

He added that today’s development is a shining example of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dedication to public service and his commitment to addressing the problems faced by citizens in Tripura.
