Korean envoy explores trade, cultural ties with Tripura CM

A three-member delegation from the Republic of Korea, led by Ambassador H.E. Seok-Ho Lee, met Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha at the Civil Secretariat on Monday to explore avenues for deepening cooperation.

The talks focused on enhancing economic and cultural engagement, with particular attention to how Tripura and the North East could play a role in strengthening India–Korea relations. Chief Minister Saha underscored the potential for trade linkages with the state, expressing optimism that such collaborations would bolster bilateral ties.

He also outlined Tripura’s progress in connectivity, industry, sports, and other sectors, while highlighting opportunities in tourism, cultural exchange, and investment. Ambassador Lee was briefed on the state’s cultural heritage, industrial capacity, and growing infrastructure network.

Public Works Department Secretary Kiran Gitte joined the discussions, which concluded with both sides expressing intent to explore concrete partnerships in the future.
