The Tripura ‘Yadav Mahasabha’ , launched 90 years ago in the year 1935 during the reign of king Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya, has been working with single-minded zeal for the welfare of the Hindus of the state cutting across ethnic identities. In the year 1999 the Tripura ‘Yadav Mahasabha’ had set up the ‘Krishna Mandir’ in a modest way beside the Laxmi Narayan road in Banamalipur area but over the past twenty six years the ‘Mandir’ (temple) has grown in stature with expansion of all-round infrastructure. The ‘Yadav Mahasabha’s is now planning to set up ‘Krishna Mandir’ (temple dedicated to Lord Krishna) all important places including district, subdivision and block headquarters in co-operation with all sections of Hindu believers , specially the ‘Yadav’ community people.
This year the ‘Yadav Mahasabha’ has decided to organise a grand celebration of the ‘Janmashtami’ (birth anniversary of Lord Krishna) on August 15. On this auspicious day the chief minister Dr Manik Saha, AMC chairman Dipak Majumder and the Corporator of AMC ward no-20 Ratna Datta will inaugurate the holy worship of Lord Krishna at 7-30 in the evening . The decision in this regard had been taken in the biennial general meeting of the Tripura ‘Yadav Mahasabha’ on last July 20.
Apart from this, the general meeting took five important decisions . These decisions include-1) contacting all ‘Yadav’ community people all over the state and launching ‘Yadav Mahasabhas’ in all subdivisions, 2) initiative will be taken to set up temples dedicated to Lord Krishna in all subdivisions, 3) deputation by ‘Yadav Mahasabha’ members with all SDMs and DMs so that people belonging to the ‘Yadav’ community are given all sanctioned governmental benefits, 4) mounting pressure on political parties and leaders to ensure proper representation of ‘Yadav’ community people in three-tier panchayat bodies, civic bodies and legislature, 5) extending financial assistance to poor students belonging to the ‘Yadav’ community for higher studies at all levels.
