Two more journalists including an ATN Bangla channel camera man assaulted in different parts of Bangladesh, no action so far

In two separate incidents, as if to confirm the perception of growing insecurity of media persons in lawless Bangladesh under the Yunus regime, two more journalists including the camera man of popular TV channel , ATN Bangla, have been beaten up by mobs of ‘Momins’ while covering events in Gazipur district and Tangail on Thursday and on Saturday morning-that is, today. Sources from across the border said that Yesterday a journalist Asaduzzoman Tuhin was clubbed and stabbed to death in a tea-stall in Gazipur but before that on Thursday. Anwar Hossain Sourav, correspondent of a leading Bangladeshi daily in Gazipur had been assaulted on a road while moving ahead to cover an incident . He was brought down from his motor bike and beaten with bricks and clubs in consequence of which he sustained serious injuries and multiple fractures before being shifted to a local hospital . But another grave assault on a working journalist occurred in Tangail this morning in Char Jakkulla village where a ‘Kabbadi’match was on. Sources said that Sujan Mia , a local journalist covering the match as a cameraman of the ATN Bangla channel was suddenly set upon by section of the spectators who beat him up severely and snatched away hid gold chain worn round his neck. While undergoing treatment in Tangail Sadar hospital Sujan said that the attackers had targeted him without any rhyme or reason and he has filed a complaint with the police station in Tangail Sadar. A large number of media outlets have published or uploaded online the news about serial assaults on media persons across the country, deploring the inaction of police in all matters .
