The lawless Bangladesh under the misrule of illegitimate Yunus regime is turning out to be a grave-yard of media professionals because of hostility of fundamentalists and terrorist elements propping the regime. During the past since the forcible regime change brought on by the US deep state, a large number of journalists of all categories have been victimized and the carnage continues even now. In the latest outrage a senior journalist Md Asaduzzaman Tuhin (38) has been hacked to death in broad daylight in a tea-stall this morning in Gazipur under Mymensing district. He was originally from Bhatipara village under Fulbaria sub-district of Mymensing district.

According to eye-witness accounts reported from across the border while sitting in the tea-stall along with others Tuhin found a gang of miscreants quarrelling aloud with a woman whom they were also trying to assault around 9-00 AM . He tried to record the entire scene on his mobile and thus incurred the wrath of the miscreants who then hacked him to death on the spot. The entire video of the hacking has also been shown live on social media major ‘Facebook’ live. Confirming the daylight killing Shahin Khan, officer in charge of Bason police station in Gazipur, said that Asaduzzaman Tuhin’s lifeless body had been recovered and sent to Gazipur hospital morgue for post-mortem and a case of murder by lynching had also been filed. Sources however said that the killers are hardly likely to be nabbed, let alone punished, because of their proximity to the ruling dispensation. Before being attacked and killed Tuhin had earlier posted a video in ‘Facebook’ showing how traffic rules were being violated at will by people moving along roads in Gazipur and antagonizing the anti-social elements.

Sources from across the border said that ever since the illegitimate Yunus government had taken over power on August 8 last year in the wake of the forced ouster of Sheikh Hasina and her Awami League government three days earlier, the overall condition of media professionals has gone from bad to worse by the day. Giving a harrowing account of the victimization of media sources said that over the past year ten journalists have been murdered, mostly by lynching and as many as 412 have been framed in various cases of crimes while 39 journalists have been rotting in jail upon arrest. Besides, as many as 1000 thousand journalists have been dismissed from service under official pressure . The office of the Dhaka Journalist Union (DJU) has been lying closed for over a year now even as 300 journalists face travel ban and bank accounts of 100 journalists have been frozen by the government. “There is nothing called media now in Bangladesh ; we now have only propaganda sheets, channels and online sites kowtowing to the illegitimate regime” said sources.
