BSNL Launches ‘Freedom Plan’ at Just Rs. 1 for New and Port-In Customers, Effective Across Tripura over August 1-31, 2025

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has unveiled a new ultra-affordable mobile recharge plan titled "Freedom Plan", offering unlimited voice calls, 2GB of high-speed data per day (post which the speed will drop to 40 Kbps), and 100 SMS per day, all for just Rs. 1. The benefits will be valid for a total period of 30 days.

According to a press release issued today, BSNL clarified that this Freedom Plan is exclusively available for new BSNL SIM users and those porting into BSNL from other networks. The plan will be valid only during the Freedom Month from August 1 to August 31, 2025.

To make the offer even more accessible, BSNL is providing a free SIM card with the plan. This means new users or MNP customers opting for BSNL in August will not incur any initial cost. The SIM cards will be available at all Customer Service Centres (CSCs) of BSNL as well as at all retail SIM outlets under the North East-I Telecom Circle.

Speaking on this occasion, Ms. Daily Giri, Chief General Manager (CGMT) of BSNL North East-I Circle, stated,

With a strong focus on affordability and technological advancement, BSNL is progressing toward upgraded 4G services and upcoming 5G rollout.”

The Freedom Plan is seen as a strategic move by BSNL to attract new customers, especially in regions like the Northeast, where connectivity and affordability remain key concerns.

BSNL press release issued today also said that BSNL continues to serve as a public-sector telecom lifeline, especially in rural and underserved areas, with renewed focus on customer-centric and budget-friendly services.
