Ministerial delegation visit home of deceased driver Mihira Lal Debnath in Kanchanpur, give cheque of Rs 6 lakhs

A high-profile BJP delegation comprising minister for social welfare Tinku Roy, industry minister Santana Chakma , BJP chief whip in the assembly and MLA of Teliamura , Kalyani Roy and member of district council (MDC) Shailendra Nath and leaders of Kanchanpur ‘Mandal’ of BJP visited the grief stricken home of Mihir Lal Debnath , the truck driver who had died within his broken vehicle in Chakmaghat area of Teliamura on Tuesday morning. The ministerial delegation was also accompanied by DM (north ) Chandni Chandran and SDM (Kanchanpur) Deepak Kumar in the residence of Mihir Lal in Barohaldi area of Kanchanpur.
Having reached Mihir Lal’s home the delegation conveyed their sincere condolences to his father and family members and social welfare minister handed over cheque of Rs 6 lakhs to Mihir’s father as one-time assistance. The BJP chief whip of the assembly Kalyani Roy separately handed over a cheque of Rs 50 thousand to the bereaved family. All the BJP leaders expressed their shock over the accidental death of Mihir Lal Debnath and conveyed their condolences besides promising to stand by the family in all codntions. “We can not share your grief but we do realize what it means to lose a son who was an earning member; we promise to stand by you through thick and thin all the time” said Kalyani Roy and Tinku Roy. The social welfare minister Tinku Roy also gave a commitment that he will arrange for an old age allowance for deceased Mihir Lal Debnath’s old father and appealed to the local people to help and stand by the bereaved family.
The local people of Kanchanpur also appreciated the gesture of the ministers and BJP leaders and said that this is what is expected of a sensitive government. Sources said that the high-profile delegation had gone to Kanchanpur at the initiative of the chief minister Dr Manik Saha who is still shocked over the death of driver Mihir Lal Debnath in such a heart-rending manner.
