CM Dr. Manik Saha Inaugurates New Cricket Ground at KC Girls School, Kamalpur: A Boost to Sports Culture in Dhalai

In a significant move to enhance the sports infrastructure in Tripura, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today inaugurated the newly developed cricket ground at KC Girls School in Kamalpur under Dhalai district. The facility is expected to play a crucial role in encouraging young athletes, especially girls, to actively participate in sports and pursue their dreams.

This cricket ground, developed under the collaborative efforts of the Government of Tripura and the Tripura Cricket Association (TCA), reflects the state’s ongoing commitment to strengthen grassroots-level sports infrastructure across all districts, including remote and rural regions.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha emphasized the importance of sports in overall development. He said, “This initiative not only brings cricket closer to our youth but also reflects our commitment to holistic development through sports. It’s a proud moment for Kamalpur and for the entire Dhalai district.”

Dr. Saha highlighted that the state government is taking consistent steps to identify and nurture sporting talent by creating better facilities and opportunities in every corner of Tripura.

The inauguration of this cricket ground at a girls’ school is also being seen as a progressive step toward promoting gender inclusivity in sports — inspiring more young girls to take up competitive cricket and other athletic disciplines.
