Tripura Higher Education Minister Kishore Barman Meets BL Santosh, Discusses Major Educational Projects with Union MoS in New Delhi

Tripura's Higher Education Minister Kishore Barman met Union Minister of State for Education and Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, in New Delhi yesterday to discuss key developmental issues related to the state’s higher education sector. During the meeting, Barman sought active support from the Union Minister for infrastructure development at MBB University, resolving legal complexities in affiliating three new college campuses with MBB College, and establishing a major central educational institution in Tripura.

In a social media update, Minister Barman informed that Dr. Majumdar assured him that all the matters raised would be considered with due importance.

While in Delhi, Barman also addressed the valedictory session of the "Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam 2025", organized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, at Bharat Mandapam to mark the five-year milestone of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The one-day national seminar was inaugurated by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, along with Ministers of State Dr. Sukanta Majumdar and Jayant Chaudhary.

The event was attended by directors and vice-chancellors of prominent educational institutions, education ministers of various states, education secretaries from central and state governments, national award-winning teachers, educationists, and representatives from academic organizations across the country. The central theme of the seminar was “Development of the Nation through National Education Policy.”

This was Minister Barman's first official visit to the national capital after assuming charge of the Higher Education Department of Tripura. As part of his visit, he also paid a courtesy call on B. L. Santosh, General Secretary (Organization) of the All India Organization, and exchanged views on the future course of action and strategies to enhance Tripura's educational landscape.
