World Hepatitis Day observed with solemnity through enlightening programme

The Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura (HFT) yesterday observed the World Hepatitis Day through an enlightening programme in the government run ‘Muktadhara’ auditorium in the evening. This was only the first part of the programme which will continue in future also.

The programme commenced with warm welcome to the guests and greeting them with boquets, followed by the lighting of the holy lamp on the dais. There was then an opening song sung by the students of the nursing college run by the Hepatitis Foundation and then the actual function began.

It was then the turn of the welcome address to be delivered by Mrinmay Sengupta , secretary of HFT, Agartala branch. Senior journalist Dibakar Debnath, a leading functionary of HFT then delivered his speech as general secretary of HFT. Dr Pradip Bhowmik , senior medicine specialist besides being the professor of AGMC and the founder president of the HFT, Tripura gave a well-thought out and enlightening speech that charmed the audience.

This was followed by appreciative speeches from Dr Ranjan Biswas, chief medical officer of West Tripura, Dr Vishal Kumar, the DM and Collector of West Tripura, Mr Dipak Majumder, the Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation and that Dr N.L.Bhowmik, president of HFT. Yesterday’s session closed with the singing in chorus of the national anthem.
