CPIM State General Secretary Jitendra Chaudhury has strongly condemned the today’s attack on the PM's ‘Mann Ki Baat’ event at Taksapara under the Asharambari Assembly constituency. In a sharp statement issued in his facebook page, Chaudhury described the incident as a grave assault on democratic values.

"Whether it is a public or private program, organised by the ruling party or the opposition, by allies or non-allies, an attack on any political event is a brutal, undemocratic, and condemnable act," said Chaudhury, criticizing the violent disruption of the BJP’s program.

According to reports, more than six BJP supporters sustained injuries in the attack. A Maruti Swift car and over five motorcycles were also vandalized during the incident. The local police have launched an investigation, but no arrests have been made yet.

Interestingly, Tipra Motha leader and state minister Animesh Debbarma, who is also the MLA from Asharambari, is scheduled to visit the affected area tomorrow. However, Debbarma has categorically denied any involvement of Tipra Motha supporters in the violence.

The incident has heightened political tensions in the region, with all eyes now on the ongoing police probe and the response from the state administration.
