Second Tripura Startup Council Meeting Held: 29 Startups Present Pitches, 69 Now Registered in Tripura

The Second Startup Council Meeting of Tripura was successfully held yesterday at the IT Bhavan in Agartala under the chairmanship of Shri Kiran Gitte, IAS, Secretary, Information Technology, Government of Tripura. The meeting was a significant step forward in promoting the state's startup ecosystem and encouraging innovation-driven entrepreneurship.

Shri Jeya Ragul Geshan B, IFS, Director of IT, Government of Tripura, was present at the meeting alongside other Startup Council members. Founders of registered startups across various sectors actively participated in the meeting and showcased their ideas and products through detailed presentations.

The two-day session saw the participation of 29 startups seeking formal recognition and Proof of Concept (POC) approval. These startups presented innovative solutions in technology, services, agriculture, education, and other emerging fields.

According to official figures, a total of 86 applications have been received so far through the official online portal. Of these, 69 startups have already been registered under the Tripura Startup Policy. It is worth noting that during the First Startup Council Meeting, 10 startups had received official recognition.

This meeting highlighted the growing entrepreneurial spirit in Tripura, with the Department of Information Technology playing a key role in fostering a supportive ecosystem in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India, under the flagship Digital India initiative.

The Government of Tripura has been actively promoting innovation through collaborative platforms like MyGov India and MyGov Tripura, ensuring grassroots-level participation in the digital transformation journey of the state.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and senior minister Pranajit Singha Roy have also consistently extended their support to the startup ecosystem, emphasizing the importance of youth-led innovation in transforming Tripura’s economic and digital landscape.
