In a major step towards enhancing religious tourism in Tripura, Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha today inaugurated the newly renovated ‘Kasba View Lodge’, located within the premises of the historic Kasbeswari Mata Temple at Kamalasagar. Once known as the ‘Comilla View Tourist Lodge’ and left in a dilapidated state during the previous regime, the structure has now undergone complete transformation and modernization to offer quality accommodation and services to tourists and pilgrims.
The lodge, now renamed ‘Kasba View Lodge’, blends cultural heritage with modern amenities and has been handed over for public use by the Hon’ble Chief Minister himself.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha said, “Tripura is a sacred land of Sanatan heritage, rich with royal legacies and religious shrines that hold immense spiritual and historical value. The Kasbeswari Temple established by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya and the Chaturdasha Devata Temple in Khayerpur founded by Maharaja Krishna Kishore Manikya are among our most revered sites.”
To further promote these spiritual and historical sites, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation stones for two major tourism infrastructure projects, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB):
A Rs. 18.78 crore project for developing Kasba tourism infrastructure, and another Rs. 13.63 crore project for the Chaturdasha Devata Temple tourism infrastructure at Khayerpur.
These initiatives aim to create modern, tourist-friendly facilities while preserving the cultural and religious significance of these heritage sites. The state government envisions transforming Tripura’s sacred places into attractive pilgrimage-cum-tourism destinations for both domestic and international visitors.
Dr. Saha emphasized that such developments would not only boost tourism but also honor Tripura’s glorious royal and spiritual traditions. The dedication of the Kasba View Lodge and the initiation of high-value infrastructure projects mark a new chapter in the state's journey towards cultural preservation and tourism excellence.
