At a time when the entire Bangladesh is grieving over the death of 32 persons including students and teachers in the airforce’s training plane crash on Dhaka’s Milestone school early this week the chief advisor Md Yunus has sought public donation for providing assistance and relief to the families of victims including those injured. However Yunus’s call for donation has evoked sharp and critical reactions from political and intellectual circles of the country because of his own track-record and wasteful expenditure.
Sources from Bangladesh pointed out that in the wake of grant of flood-relief given last year the relief fund had a deposit of Taka 30 crore. “The people and political parties and leaders in opposition are asking why that fund is not being utilized for the purpose of providing relief . Besides on Moday last the Yunus led illegitimate government had reportedly spent a huge amount of Taka for providing security to the leaders of his sponsored National Citizens Party (NCP) in Gopalganj area under Faridpur district . The NCP leaders of course had to flee the place, facing mass fury from supporters of the Awami League and ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her father , the illustrious founder-president of Bangladesh ‘Bangabandhu’ Sheikh Mujibur Rahaman.
Apart from this , during his recent trip to London an expendtture of Taka 3 crores had been spent for up and down journey and food and lodging there. “This fact is also being cited by the opposition parties, specially the Awami League in social media and the people continue to express grave resentment over the smiling face of Md Yuus in media even after the devastating air crash tragedy that has taken such a heavy toll of lives” sources said , adding that a grave wave of resentment is brewing all over the country over the callous misrule and lawlessness under the Yunus regime.
