Dr. Priyanka Das, a registered physiotherapist under the Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP), has issued a formal clarification regarding a recent news article published on tripurainfo.com titled “Mother Alleges Physiotherapist Broke 6-Year-Old Daughter’s Arm during Physiotherapy.”
In her official statement addressed to the Editor of Tripurainfo, Dr. Das expressed deep concern over the article being published without her version or a formal statement. She stated that the report has caused significant distress to her professional integrity and personal reputation.Dr. Das clarified that the child of Narayanpur area in question had already shown signs of a swollen arm upon arrival, and she had advised the parents to consult an orthopedic doctor, refraining from continuing therapy. She also highlighted that the mother was using home-based techniques for the child without professional guidance, which could have worsened the condition.Calling for balanced reporting, Dr. Das noted that no opportunity was given to her to explain her side before the article was published. She emphasized the importance of fair journalism and due process, adding that public narratives based on incomplete facts could lead to reputational harm.
