Extra-marital affair, husband appears in Jirania police station to hand over adulterous wife to paramour

In a bizarre incident symptomatic of the social decay and breakdown of moral value system a husband who had caught his wife having illcit liaison with her paramour dragged his deviant wife to the Jirania police station and requested the authority to keep note of the fact that he was going to hand over his wife to her paramour. He had also apprised the police officers on duty of the escapades of his wife.

Sources from Jirania said that Rabindra Debnath (37) of Jirania Kalabagan area had married Moumita Debnath (33) of a nearby area a decade ago and the couple have a son. Initially the couple had been living happily but after Rabindra had to go to Jampui area of north Tripura in connection with work Moumita developed illicit relation with a local youth Uttam Debnath. In the year 2021 when the Covid pandemic was at its height Uttam had come to meet Moumita but was caught red handed in action by local people who gave him a sound thrashing and shaved his head before letting him go back. This was followed by an arbitration meeting at village level and both Momita and Uttam openly declared that they were snapping their illicit relation.

But by a quirk of fate Moumita was yesterday caught by her husband Rabindra while she had been speaking over mobile with Uttam. Angered by his wife’s treacherous behaviour Rabindra Debnath and his relatives and family members dragged Moumita to the Jirania police station and declared in front of the officer in charge of the police station Himadri Sarkar that he was releasing his adulterous wife so that she could go to her paramour Uttam Debnath . Even though the OC said that he had nothing to do in the matter Rabindra said that he had brought his wife to show police authority that she was safe and sound and that he had not physically wronged her. Before leaving the police station Rabindra told media persons that he was setting his treacherous wife and wanted only to make sure that he did not face any false charge later on . The matter ended there and what Rabindra did later on is not yet known.
